Associate director of college access programs
Bryan was born and raised in the Bay Area, attending high school in San Mateo County. After earning a dual degree in History and Geography from U.C.L.A., Bryan joined Teach for America (TFA) in 2012. As a TFA corps member, Bryan taught three years of 9th grade science in Ferriday, Louisiana. In this role, Bryan set aside class time to focus on his students’ college and career goals. While serving as an unofficial “college counselor,” Bryan learned about the barriers facing his students, and committed himself to increasing college access for underrepresented youth.
After leaving the classroom, Bryan earned his M.A. in Education from Stanford University, and served as a tutor and advisor for College Track East Palo Alto. He worked as an intern and Instructional Coach for Breakthrough Silicon Valley before joining as a full time staff member in 2016, and is excited to contribute towards the organization’s mission and the success of its students.
