College Advising Manager
Maria Valle was born and raised in San Jose. She received a Bachelor's in Political Science from Santa Clara University. Some of her most transformational experiences include studying abroad for a semester in El Salvador, Rome, and Washington DC, and participating in the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship at U.C Berkeley.
Maria was involved with Breakthrough Silicon Valley as a Teaching Fellow in the summer of 2009. Prior to returning to Breakthrough, she was the Director of Graduate Support at Sacred Heart Nativity Schools in Downtown San Jose. She is excited to re-join the Breakthrough family as the College Counseling Manager. As a first-generation college graduate, she has a deep understanding of the challenges first-generation college students face and wants to empower them as they navigate the college application process. During her free time, she loves to explore local coffee shops and beaches, spend time with her family, jog, read, listen to Mexican music, plan trips, and wander the streets of Downtown San Jose.
