Breakthrough's Farewell SUMMER AT Hillbrook

For six successful years, the Hillbrook School has hosted Breakthrough Silicon Valley's summer program for rising 7th and 8th graders on its beautiful campus. Now, we are in our final full summer at Hillbrook, and we couldn't be more grateful for the memories, support, and the Hillbrook community's love for our program.

To Head of School, Mark Silver, faculty, parents, students, and alumni: thank you for being our summer hosts and enthusiastic supporters over many years. Our partnership has enriched Breakthrough students and its legacy lives on through these inspiring young people.

Each summer, an eager new cohort of middle school students embarks on an exciting journey with Breakthrough Silicon Valley, one that will launch them beyond poverty, gang-impacted neighborhoods, and under-resourced schools -- all the way to college. It is a journey that opens doors and transforms lives.

Now, in the midst of our final full summer at Hillbrook, Breakthrough is looking toward the future, and what our options are for summer learning in 2017 and beyond.

We need your help

As the result of a permit granted by the Los Gatos town council allowing Hillbrook to expand its student body with the condition the school cut back its summer occupancy, Breakthrough will need to find a new site in 2017.

Hillbrook has infused Breakthrough with its values and spirit. We strive to be extraordinary, innovative, and joyful.

The Hillbrook community has made Breakthrough stronger

Your donation today will help ensure we can maintain these values at our next summer site.

Help us continue the legacy created by our time at Hillbrook -- allowing Breakthrough to run a summer program...

  • where students dig deeply into hands-on learning and build skills for success.
  • where they discover that curiosity is cool.
  • where future leaders find their voices.
  • where college dreams take root and thrive.

As each Breakthrough student attends college,

a ripple effect begins that touches the lives of siblings, neighbors, and ultimately changes our community.
