become an after school PROGRAM facilitator

What will I do as an After School PROGRAM Facilitator?

As an After School Program (ASP) Facilitator, you will lead a class of seventh or eighth graders, twice per week. As a mentor to our students, you will help them develop the crucial habits, skills, and mindsets they need to succeed in high school and beyond. You will work individually, or in small groups, with students to support students in developing social and emotional skills, particularly those related to communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.

It is required that facilitators attend an orientation prior to beginning.

Who can be an ASP Facilitator?

You must be a current high school student (at least sophomore) or college student. All academic backgrounds are welcome to apply. Prior tutoring, community service, and/or leadership experience are highly preferred. Must demonstrate personal commitment to academic excellence and enjoy working with youth.

Who will I be working with?

Our student population consists of motivated 7th and 8th graders students from schools in San Jose Unified and Franklin-McKinley School Districts.

What will my time commitment be?

All candidates must be able to commit to one day per week in the fall and/or two days per week in the spring corresponding to one of the follow sessions below. Please check back for information on our After School Program for 2020-21.
